The University of Barcelona is one of the oldest universities in Europe: it was founded in 1450 by King Alphonse V. It comprises 16 faculties, 8 university institutes, and a series of associated centres – all located throughout Barcelona and its environs. The university buildings are clustered in six campuses: Campus d’Humanitats (Gran Vía, Downtown Barcelona), Campus de la Diagonal Portal del Coneixement, Campus de Ciències de la Salut de Bellvitge, Campus de Medicina - Clínic August Pi i Sunyer, Campus de Mundet - Universitat de Barcelona, Campus de l’Alimentació de Torribera.

Courses

The main languages of instruction are Catalan and Spanish. However, some programs are taught comletely in English and quite a few have include courses in all three languages (Catalan, Spanish, and English).
